As per the identified major fibre cut in Mascot, Sydney which is resulting in all our provider links between Australia and NZ via the Southern Cross Cable being down.
Fibre crews are onsite and planning the fibre replacement/repair. Two cables have been identified so far to of been cut by civil works - a 72 core fibre and a 96 core fibre.
The two new fibre cables need to be hauled between splice joints and then spliced at each end.
Due to the nature of the work involved, there is an updated ETR of 22/03/18 - 02:00 NZT.
